In Cancun this week Emilie faces a Polish player in the first round, and teams up with the same person in the doubles. Tanysha is shown as having a WC in the MD, not sure why as she was first on the q list, but ends up with the 3rd seed regardless, which gives her little chance of winning a round unfortunately...
Interesting, after not being in the draw at all, EWS has turned up here with Sam - and Sofia S, her doubles partners - from Jerusalem. Emily and Sam in the q draw. Can only see the OOP so far, but have wholly unranked QR1 opponents, and as they are in the top 6 seeds, will presumably also have lower ranked FQ...
QR1: Marcelo Vásquez (MEX) UNR vs (q12) Cheraag Bajwa ITF 3231 QR1: (q8) Zheng Yili (CHN) ITF 2468 vs Sahej Maker UNR Jonathan Gray should be in the main draw.
It's not quite that time of year again, where GrandSlam wildcards become the hottest topic. But shortly, the FFT will be announcing the wilcards for Roland Garros. Here are my predictions... MD: Six French players, one Australian, one Yank. Q; Six more French, one Ozzy and a Yank. Doubles: Seven pai...
Just one q round but not the easiest draws for Graziella and Alisha to earn one of the 8 q places in the MD. Graziella especially, as she plays Margaux Orange, who has a former WTA ranking. This is the first time for me to see Ms Reayer, I must admit. FQR: Graziella BARRETT (GBR) UNR/UNR vs Margaux ORANGE...
Emily App appears here this week after the short journey from Singapore. Unfortunately she will inevitably lose again. R32: Emily APPLETON (GBR) [IR] 711/18 vs Abigail TERE-APISAH (PNG) [7] 369 (CH:276 Aug18) Better news is that in the doubles she plays with Catherine Harrison (USA) again, wit...
Having recently seen Joko;s result, it seems to me that we are having a lot of these "set reversal" results; I don't have match by match stats so I would be interested to know if this is a recent phenomena
Just Freya in the q draw. Maia and Lissey should be in the MD. Freya should get through the first q round, but potentially meets Naomi's doubles partner from their successful trophy run this week in the FQR. QR1: Freya CHRISTIE (GBR) [q2] 527 vs Eunseo YUN (KOR) UNR/1683 Born 2001 (JCH:1417 Dec 18)
A very short thread, with just one match to report DoublesL16: Anna MORGINA (RUS) Dalila SPITERI (ITA) 1043 (479+564) def Soumeya ANANE (GBR) Ani VANGELOVA (BUL) 1597 (702+895) 7-5 7-5
The first change from a carpet court in Portugal this ITF year I think. Just Anoushka in qualifying, so maybe the Mortons are not here this week. Playing a very young Canadian player. Winner, sadly, will take on the q1 seed. QR1: Anoushka WOOLLER (GBR) UNR/UNR vs Bianca Jolie FERNANDEZ (CAN) UNR/UN...
Hoyt is now ranked in the top 10 of the ITF, (I still do not know what this means), does he deserve WC for the grass season. When will Hoyt start playing on the challenger tour and not ITF? -- Edited by Vandenburg on Tuesday 28th of May 2019 04:00:43 PM
There is a thin British entry for the French Open, with no direct entrants and just Harry Wendelken and Blu Baker in qualifying. This tournament gives Harry the chance to earn a Special Exempt for Paris. Amarni Banks is a late withdrawal here Boys R1 (L48) (14) Harry Wendelken bye
Horrible draw here, sadly Jodie and EWS play first up. Real pity after Emily did so well last week And don't really sure how, but Daria Lopatetska is still showing as top seed, despite having a meniscus operation and being in a wheelchair last week R32: Samantha MURRAY (GBR) 539 vs Bojana MARIN...
Alice is top seed here again this week - Safiya Carrington, who entered with a WTA ranking no longer has one now - and Alicia Robinson is in the draw too. R32: Alice GILLAN (GBR) [1] UNR/171 (CH:785) vs Audrey Ann BLAKELY (USA) UNR/685 R32: Alicia ROBINSON (GBR) UNR/1281 vs Pauline WUARIN (SUI) UNR/5...
