Evan's good run continues. You almost wonder if Evan anticipated the change of rulings on the rankings and that is why he has focused on racking up the points at this level. Whether it's good judgment or just circumstance, Evan has had a fantastic run and of our players lower down the rankings, has been the stand out GB player this year so far.
Would be great to see him top off the week with another title.

Yes. Very canny event planning
Despite my "conspiracy theory", I think Evan's tournament selection is probably motivated by other factors. I remember a conversation with Evan some time ago. He had been talking to another ex pro (may even have been Tim Henman) about coming back from long term injury. The advice he got was simply to play as much tennis as he can for an extended period, almost regardless of level (providing it was competitive of course).
I think Evan's strategy may simply be to play a few months of tournaments where he has a good chance of going deep each week just to get as many matches under his belt as possible. It will stand him in good stead in the linger term.
But whatever, his motivation, the strategy seems to be working so far. However, I am also looking forward to seeing him step up a level. Perhaps the grass courts challengers will be the time, although as we know, the Entry Lists for those can often read like ATP 250/500 events.
Get in there Evan. Trinker served 25 aces in the match. Evan even had to stave off multiple BPs in the final game as he eventually served it out. What a battle.
