In Cancun this week Emilie faces a Polish player in the first round, and teams up with the same person in the doubles. Tanysha is shown as having a WC in the MD, not sure why as she was first on the q list, but ends up with the 3rd seed regardless, which gives her little chance of winning a round unfortunately. And although Emilie was 4th on the entry list she is not seeded here this week, as her ITF ranking has now fallen near 100 places. Last week's RU position should help her regain those points next week.
R32: Emilie LINDH (GBR) UNR/388 vs Daria KUCZER (POL) UNR/365 (CH:982 Dec 18)
R32: Tanysha DISSANAYAKE (GBR) [WC] UNR/863 Born 2001 vs Kirsten-Andrea WEEDON (GUA) UNR/111 (CH:650 Dec 18)
Tanysha has put up a good show but lost 3-6 3-6. She was 3-2 up in the first set, but then lost 4 in a row, and was down early in the second set before coming back again. She hasn't had any great performances here, but she seems to have been slowly improving and becoming more competitive. She's playing doubles still this week, but after that this is her last week here in this current trip. I hope she feels she has gained from it.
Sad to see that Emilie served for the first set at *5-4, didn't make it, eventually lost the set 5-7 and then retired. I hope she's ok and it's just one of those things. She has doubles scheduled later so guess we will find out.

Well, glad to see Emilie was able to make it onto the doubles court. Maybe she was physically ill more than anything else rather than being injured. Hope she will be able to continue in the doubles.
Not to be for Emilie in her doubles final. The Argentinian pair may have been unseeded but they took out the top seeded Brazilian pair on a close MTB in the QF, and otherwise cruised through the tournament without dropping a further set. Still, after her second round singles retirement a good week for Emilie and she remains in the draw to play again next week too.
