Followed by three holds - and then Lissey was broken to lose the match 7-6(5) 3-6 7-5 in three hours 31 minutes
Yes, I had a feeling that 6th game where she failed to go 4-2 up in the final set despite the 5 GPs might signal a change in momentum, and it effectively did in the end. After then, Lissey was always playing catch up. A pity. I thought she would win this match
Here's the final round up summary of the first round. Rankings said we should have two wins, but just the one in the end after Lissey's +3hrs loss. She'll be feeling doubly sore this evening, as she will feel for sure she should have won this match in two sets, never mind three.. but will just have to pick up and go again now.

Noting the addicts post of longest matches in last week's Obidos thread, there have been a number of long matches here. Lissey's match yesterday was 3hr 31min match in Korea yesterday, but that was only the second longest match there yesterday. Cabaj Awad and a local WC were on court for 3hr 36min. There was also a 3hr 21min match to complete a hat-trick of long matches in Korea yesterday. And for good measure, Maia's next opponent was on court for 3hrs 21mins today. I wonder what the record for the number of 3hr 20min+ matches in one event is.
