Emilie made harder work of this than it looked when she was 6-2 4-0 up, but she has come through at least, even if eventually requiring a TB in the second set.
Well, plenty of challenges for longest women's match at the moment for this year. Maia had a match 3hrs 43 mins long this morning, now Scandalis, Emilie's opponent for tomorrow, puts out the 2nd seed, Mary Robinson in 3 sets and 3hrs 41 mins. Dare I say Emilie may have the upper hand tomorrow... And just to note that by August, reaching the SF here will be converted to 4 WTA points!!
SF: Emilie LINDH (GBR) UNR/388 vs Zoe Gwen SCANDALIS (USA) [Q] UNR/669 (CH:711 Aug 11)
After her promising start a disappointing set for Emilie as she loses it 1-6 and 20-30 on points... Let's hope she can turn it around a bit second set..
