David Mercer
(Preview)
I read on the BBC/Sport/Tennis website that David Mercer has passed away at the age of 70. He was well known as an umpire and commentator on radio and television. He umpired the 1984 Wimbledon mens singles final between John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors. RIP and thoughts go out to his family.

Angela Buxton
(Preview)
I read on the ITF site that Angela Buxton has passed away. She was of course a Wimbledon Finalist, in the 50's, as well as winning doubles at Wimbledon and the French. She suffered from much prejudice in her life, as a Jewish lady, and triumphed despite the barriers put in her way. She played doubles wit...

A Morning Challenge
(Preview)
Here is a challenge that has been set by Marcus Willis on Twitter this morning. You might like to try it. His challenge is simply, NAME THE 15. No cheating by looking up Yaz Clarke's answer sheet on Twitter. I am ashamed to admit, I got 1 and guessed 1. But that was all.

Big request !!
(Preview)
This is not meant as a criticism more as a request to help us all! And forgive me if anyone takes umbrage or disagrees. It's really great when someone says " Evo has withdrawn from Wimbledon " or whatever. But I also find it really, really helpful if you can attach a link to the article or an article. ...

How to proceed with GB player of the month? Vote for your preferred Option
(Preview)
I was having a think about this. Currently, I had planned a vote covering June and July and a separate one covering August. But the issue in retrospect is that August would only have the 2 weeks of the final part of SGH event, as the others finish in July, and then whatever happens in terms of maybe ATP and W...

A lot of the greatest players turned out not to be our favourites, as it happens, but we never tested who the board members think is the greatest pl...
