Who is the GREATEST EVER PLAYER? Mens Round One, Group Four - Tie Break Play Off

Two player tie break, closes at 10.15 pm. If tied at 10.15, I will extend an hour. If still tied at 11.15...not sure yet!

U know the rules, lets vote in the greatest in your opinion!

This is so close to me, but much as I would like to vote for Fred, it is Borg's 5 back to back French/Wimbledon titles that does it for me, in a career that finished at 26. If Borg had played 5 more years, 11 slams could have been 16-21 perhaps and we would rank him as the greatest without question.

Well, it seems others think Perry so far!

10-4 to Perry!

It's amazing and makes me proud to think 3 of the best 24 men and women players ever are Brits! Fab!

You were apparently very unconvinced by Andy's presence though

It was said with a heavy sense of scepticism I'm afraid!

I'm wondering if the Serbian board would have jankovic and Ivanovic into the final 12?! Pretty certain they probably would ...heh ho.

It shouldn't be.

If you reversed Murray and Djokovic's records, personally I would still have had both to go through.

To be honest,  andy stacks up and would be in my top 20npf all time, I feel though we dont give enough credit to those stars of yesteryear, although  realise we differ on that!

Yes, it is my view of how I judge current players vs past players and the credit I think appropriate where I clearly diverge from some folk and there is an argument to be had.

Nout to do with British biased. eg. I picked Borg in this play-off.

Nope, I dont think you would be and you voted for Borg against Perry here, which proves the point. But I find it hard to believe 11 out of 15 people genuinely think Perry was the greater of him and Borg, I really do, and the evidence of that and Angela Mortimer going through to the semis makes me think there is some correlation, of which being British is the only one I can currently point to!

And it may be fair enough!

Although I do agree Perry is also a top 20 player of all time and , in fact, ahead of Andy. Just not ahead of Borg!

11-4, 45 mins to go, Perry looking secure.

Semifinal draw will follow around 1030 pm tonight, assuming this one doesnt have a surprise ending!

Borg was my original choice. Of the four I picked the only one that made it to the next round was Connors and that was a distant second
