Laver for me. He edged the #1 from Pete and Fed, on slams he was a close second to Fed when pro years are taken into account. He won 5 Davis Cups to add to that and had longevity beyond anyone else really, it is a whisker between him and Fed and 2 calendar year grand slams does it for me eventually

Rod's record would have been even better if he hadn't have been blocked from playing when the players broke away to form their own association. He was totally dominant until that happened, and was still the best player for a couple of years when he was allowed to return to the circuit, even though by then, he was an old man. The Rockhampton Rocket is a worthy winner for me, and I am happy others see it.
