In terms of countries, here is an interesting set of info:
Womens last 12 -
USA 6 players
Australia 2
Belgium, Germany, Brazil, GB 1 each
Mens last 12:
USA, Australia 3
GB 1.5 (Perry in tb playoff)
Switzerland, Serbia, Spain, Romania 1 each
Sweden 0.5 (Borg in tb playoff)
Across the two groups, USA has 9, Australia 5, GB 2 1/2 of the last 24 players in the field. So 2/3rds come from the grand slam nations, France though is absent and it shows how, despite the depth they clearly have over time, they just havent seemed to have found that superstar or stars
If there are no tie breaks in the womens or mens events, the final polls will be put up just after 6.30 pm this evening. If either event requires a tie break (none of the groups currently do), then the finals will go up later, probably around 1030pm.
Every group has had a very consistent 21 or 22 votes in womens and mens so far during this event, sets a marker for the finals in case anyone is wondering how much more voting there will be left at any given time. Finals are sometime a couple more , so between 21 and maybe a tops of 24 or 5 , I would anticipate...
Out of interest, did anyone vote for Steffi and Rod throughout. I voted Steffi from the start but voted Ken rosewall and then Fed ahesd of Laver in earlier rounds.
Jon, thank you so much for this additional and final poll ( for now )
A great thing about these two polls is that I imagine most of us in truth feel that there is no definitive greatest male or female players, edpecially when we have such generation spreads.
But there cerrtainly are varying opinions, some quite strongly held, as to who we each consider them to be, interesting discussions to be had, and interesting round by round results to look at.
And in the end on this occasion, we have voted two men and two women clearly ahead of the rest with a couple of definite winners.

Well done to Rod snd Steffi
Thanks Indy, I very much enjoyed this one, probably of the ones I have run, I enjoyed it the most.
I also found out over the past weeks that I much prefer the early rounds of polls and not so much the latter. Seeing who is the overall champion is interesting but seeing lots of polls and options, less familiar names and the ensuing stories people tell about them, that is where the real interest for me lies. if I could do just first round polls and stop there, I would be left very happy - sadly , it is ultimately all about the final poll, the rest isnt relevant unless there is a final, but the fun is in the early part!
