I was having a think about this. Currently, I had planned a vote covering June and July and a separate one covering August. But the issue in retrospect is that August would only have the 2 weeks of the final part of SGH event, as the others finish in July, and then whatever happens in terms of maybe ATP and WTA tours, but by no means certain.
I think we have 3 choices and I wanted peoples opinion via comments and the poll - I will leave it up a day or so, end of thursday, and see what general consensus is.
Option 1 - do a belated vote for June (Battle of Brits month), one for July and a separate one for August
Option 2 - as planned, one covering June and July jointly, and another for August only.
Option 3 - put all 3 months together as a special case and vote for one "return to tennis" player of the Months...
On reflection, my own preference is Option 3, but I wanted to go with consensus and so have put up a poll, let me know your views. I will close poll end of Friday and go with the preferred. If it is Option 1, I will put up a June poll at the weekend.
In all cases, hopefully September onwards we can go for full months as normal with US Open, then French Open and all events around them contributing, plus maybe Challengers and ITF starting to return
Thanks all

I went for 2 as well. As theres plenty of tennis on, and (hopefully) the main tours will resume in August, I'd probably prefer to keep July and August separate. I think I'd prefer 1 over 3 tbh, but the backdating isn't really ideal, so I think 2 is probably best.

Cool, looks like embryonic vote is going this way as it stands. I'll see and might call it early! I'm only person not voting option 2 ! And I dont really mind !
My preference would be to give Jamie a walkover as player of the month for June for putting on such a well organised event. Recognition of course for dan and Kyle who played so well but both are capable of bigger things in more normal times and neither of them need a gong for winning a uk only event.

And he did a great job and won the doubles.
Consensus so far though is for currently planned option 2, a june/july vote and then go back to monthly in august. I'll leave it til later today and see if it changes at all.
To be fair, it is pretty clear that those interested would like to continue with the current planned approach - ie Option 2 - a vote for June/July and then a separate award vote for August.
No point in keeping this poll going, thanks for giving me the feedback, those who voted and commented!
And for Jamie Murray, perhaps an Award of Merit for June and his organisation of the Battle of the Brits!
So confirming the plan. We will have a vote as planned for June/July player of the month. This will cover the tennis activity up to and including Sunday 2nd August (as that week starts in July as we previously agreed as an approach somewhere way back in this thread!). So that June / July vote will include play from the Battle of the Brits (singles and doubles); Progress Tour Womens Champs (singles and doubles); British Tour (all 4 summer events, Premier and T1 level and some doubles for the Premier weeks) , and then the first 4 weeks of the St Georges Hill events.
Moving into August, that period would normally incl w.c. 31st August, in theory. That period will include the last 2 weeks of the SGH events, and the start of the ATP and WTA calendars in August. However, the US Open is due to start 31st August and run til 13th September so for August. Therefore, for August, I suggest we include play up to Sunday August 30th and do the August vote then, as the US Open is going too deep into September. September can then include it and the European clay events.
The French Open causes a similar issue as it starts 27th September, but I suggest we close September vote to 26th September and then the French is included in October.
I hope that makes sense - as always I am sure that will cause debates/contrary views so please let me know if you think this is wrong as a plan?

Cheers Jon. I did previously suggest that the start date of a tournament should decide what month it counted for. But your above seems a flexible sensible approach.
