As some of you know, I do a table on the Rusedski message board that tracks the rankings, whereabouts and progress of GB players in the top 500, so I couldn't help but notice this week that we are back down to just 14 players in the top 500 after hitting a high of 20 for just one week in late Octob...
Nominees:

[3] Jonny Marray: Reached semis of Orleans 75K challenger and reached final of GB F14 in Nottingham. Raised his ranking around 150 pl...
Alan Mackin, Josh Goodall, Jonny Marray and James Auckland are all entered for the qualies here and they're all in different sections so we could potentially have 4 qualifiers, that is a little optimistic though !
Auckland's entry seems to suggest that he'll be playing doubles in the main draw w...

"A gold medal, it's just once every four years...
Surprised it's not been covered on here already (maybe has but I can't find it) but Peter Norfolk has just claimed his 4th US Open title in the Quad Singles Main Draw.
Would it be fair to say that he is the best tennis player Britain actually has considering that he is dominant in his particular class?

Alex has the class to beat Chiudinelli, whether he will or not is a different question. Chiudinelli has had a strange year and currently stands at 188 in the world. He won consecutive $15k Futures tournaments in Kuwait in May, and he qualified and reached the thrd round of the US Open.&nb...
The OOP for Friday has recently been released, and it's an early start for Tim, 0100 GMT on centre court; whilst the Murray brothers start at 0200 GMT on court 3. Oh, and if Tim wins his early match, he'll then be back on court at about 1000 GMT, although, his opponent will have had even less rest. --...

OOP shows henman last on centre, so could be on around 5/6am BST.
with henman having a 100% record against Lee, i think he will win in 3. Lee also in contention for the doubles, so don't know whether he will more focus on the doubles even though that is after his singles match.
Alex just scraps into this high challenger, holding onto that ranking just inside the top 150 has really helped him, as he just made it into both poland 125k and this one as well. Cant see anyone else in the challengers this week.
What were your favourite books from childhood? Do you have anybooks that you use as 'comfort reading'?
My favourite series when i was younger were Enid Blyton's Malory Towers and Mal Lewis' Cassie at the Ballet School Series. However, the books I use for comfort reading are the Sadlers Well...
This match will be on Wednesday Novak reached rd2 with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Robin Vik He's now a veteran at 31 and is currently ranked 130 but that's due to injury, his career high ranking was no 5, back in October 2002. Arguably the finest achievement of Novak's career came that year when he reached th...
