Again, Bethan's not going to be able to fill us in until later in the week.

If Tim Wins in Tokyo, he can jump 21 placesfrom 55th up to 34th. Vliegen (Q,Mons), Soderling(Q,Metz), Malisse (S, Metz), Srichaphan (S,Tokyo), and Benneteau(W,Metz)  could overtake. Worst case then is up 17 to 38th.

If Tim reaches the Finals, he can jump 16 places to 39th. Threats are: Srichaphan(Q,Tokyo), Benneteau(S, Metz), Melzer, Santoro, Ram Ham (all F,Metz), Mathieu, Mayer, Clement, Fish(all W, Metz). A max of three can make it. Worst case is then up 13 to 43rd.

If Tim reaches the Semis, he can jump 9 places to 46th. Threats are: Santoro (Q, Metz), Melzer, Ram Ham, Mathieu (all S, Metz), Lee (S, Tokyo), Mayer, Clement Fish (all F, Metz), Serra, Kohlschreiber (both W, Metz).  A max of four can overtake, giving a worst case of up 5 to 42nd.

If Tim reaches the Quarters, he can jump 3 to 52nd. Threats are: Lee (Q, Tokyo), Mayer,  Clement, Fish (all S, Metz), Serra, Kohlschreiber (F, Metz),Safin, Bracciali, Mahut, Gicquel(all W, Metz), Becker, Spadea, Monaco, Goldstein, Phau, Greul (all W, Tokyo). 5 can overtake, so worst case is down 2 to 57th.

If Tim reaches R3, or loses in R2, he does not advance. Threats are: Fish (R2, Metz), Lee(R3, Tokyo), Serra (S,Metz), Safin, Kohlschreiber, Bracciali, Mahut (all F, Metz),Becker, Spadea, Monaco, Goldstein, Phau (F, Tokyo),  C Rochus(W, Mons), Gicquel, Sanguinetti(W, Metz), Greul, Vik, Dancevic, Kim, Koubek (W, Tokyo). Seven can overtake. Worst case is down 7 to 62nd.

Hmm Those pins are obviously a bit blunt. Lee  wins in Tokyo, and Tim's down another place to 57.

Fish beat Ram- Ham.   Not too bad for Tim, as long as Fish goes out in the quarters. If Tim reaches the semis, he'll now get past Ram Ham.

Good news, Safin's inconsistency deluded him a tiebreak loss to Melzer is Melzer a threat as well to henman, unless henman wins the tournament?
