The problem is that it is not his ranking NOW that matters, but what his ranking was 6 weeks before the tournaments when the entry lists were made. Both Masters are 48 draws, and by the time you make space for wild cards and qualifiers, there are only about 38 or 39 direct entries.

Oh right. I thought it would have been done on the rankings 2 weeks/a week beforehand. Oh well. I think he maybe should get a WC for Paris maybe since he's a previous champion but will have to qualify for Madrid. But if does try to qualify he should get through it no problem really.
