Diriyah Tennis Cup
(Preview)
I guess some of you will have noticed that there has been an event with top players taking place this week in Saudi Arabia. Putting aside the politics of the place and the rights and wrongs, it is clearly part of a push from Saudi Arabia to win over public opinion through top class sport; the Joshua v Ruiz W...

Difficult situation
(Preview)
Hope this is the right place to post. I'm in my early 20s, started playing tennis this year, having 'retired' from another sport that I competed in at a national level. I understand I'm late to the sport, but am aiming to play at quite a high level. But a situation arose at my club that is hindering my progr...

Tennis Championship "Belts"
(Preview)
I noticed on Tennis Forum and MensTennisForum, they have threads which tracks the owner of the tennis belt, that being the person who beat the person, who beat the person, etc etc all the way starting back in 1973 or so when the first number 1 ranking was awarded. The first mens belt holder was the first n...

2020 Grand Slam Winners
(Preview)
I wanted to put this in General Discussion as opposed to predictions as I felt it was worthy of discussion. I wondered who people reckoned would win the 2020 Slams and any thoughts behind it: I will give it a go: Australian Open - Djokovic and Osaka French Open - Thiem and Halep Wimbledon - Tsitsipas a...

New look Davis Cup starts next week, GB obviously not involved until the finals ( I wonder if an Andy Murray - less GB would have got the wild card to the finals?? Presumably not). Is there any depth in British Tennis yet?
(Preview)
I don't think so atm. Great Murray and Konta both in the Quarters but you feel whereas Konta's progress is a nice surprise, Murray is pretty much expected and you're shocked if he doesn't make it. Men's Davis Cup win was fantastic, but the Murray brothers were crucial in that run and win last year. Jamie...

Is the US College System good for British Tennis
(Preview)
Another mass exodus, around this time of year, of young tennis talent from Britain over to the states to take up college places. As good as it clearly is for the students themselves and their tennis development (I would personally have loved to go). Is it actually good for British Tennis as a whole? Oft...

The French are rather bitter that the guy they let get away has been SO successful in Canada (because - quelle surprise - he was never given the chance in France). Tennis courts at primary schools
