Also, for interest. Of the 19 teams playing in the ATP Cup at this stage (5 more to qualify in November) the following are also in the Davis Cup Finals in November. So 14 of the 18 DC teams are also in ATP Cup.
Serbia
Spain
Russia
Germany
Japan
Italy
France
Belgium
Croatia
Argentina
United States
Canada
United Kingdom
Australia
Of the teams we could get switzerland and Belgium are good draws. Both have strong number ones but v beatable second ranked players and we can win both matches. Should be targeting getting through this group as we should in davis cup
Murray's excellent return has improved GB chances in this ATP World Club Cup and new format DC but wondering how it'll be decided which nations player plays rubber1 for instance? Guessing this'll be rankings, which puts Andy against a second seed well behind Cam and Dan etc. When I looked at DC format I didn't see this explained, dubs would be 3rd rubber in DC, assume it'll be the same for the ATP event. It is totally mad this situation of 2x world cups within 6weeks effectively, bonkers.

The ATP cup format has number 2 players against each other, then number ones, then doubles.
I'm sure it is based on rankings. In this case, andy could play first, then dan, then possibly andy could play doubles if they go down that route. So probably better that andy would be number 2 although less likely hed play doubles.
The format saw 24 teams divided into six groups of four teams each. The teams will face in ties composed of two singles match and one doubles match. The match between the No. 2 of each team will open the tie, then the No.1 of each team, and the doubles match closing the tie. The doubles match will be played regardless whether the tie is decided or not. The winner from each group will be joined by the two best second places in the quarterfinals of the tournament for three knock-out rounds until a champion team is crowned.[8]
According to wiki davis cup will also be singles followed by doubles, order isnt clear for singles ie 1s or 2s going first
The Finals, formerly known as World Group, is the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2019. It will be held on indoor hard courts at the Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain from 18 until 24 November.[1] The ties are contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and are played on one day. There are two singles followed by a doubles.[2]
Thanks Jon, that all makes sense and only 18 teams in the DC so six groups of three in group stage, which doesn't leave much for a bad result. Looking at GB fixtures we play the Dutch on Wednesday morning and Kazakstan on Thursday morning with potential QF Friday, Saturday SF and Sunday is final day, very tight. It starts Monday but GB don't play till Wednesday. Clear advantage to openers.
That will help GB then. Belgium (Goffin v Evans, Bemelmans v Andy Murray, Gilles and Vliegen in Doubles?) certainly beatable and Switzerland (Wawrinka v Dan Evans, Laaksonen v Andy Murray? Doubles Murray/Skupski v ??) also certainly beatable as well, probably means Belgium will be tougher in reality over a 3 rubber match
Note that Federer says he wants a longer break and more time with his family - but still has a heavy schedule of exhibition matches, including one immediately after Christmas.
