Looks like Naomi had a bit of a shocker on thurs. Team lost and she lost WS, WD and MXD. 9 dfs out of 24 second serves can't have helped. Their opponents had yet to manage a win until then.
Night off on friday for Naomi.

Yes, when someone on here questioned earlier how much money the teams were making from ticket sales, I went online to the Washington Kastles website (as they seem the largest venture) and looked at the seating and tickets. And what was immediately striking was that they had sold masses and masses of seats, for a random tennis match in August. Very impressive. I still can't quite work out the economics, though, as not able to factor in, for lack of information, the amounts from hospitality packages, advertising and any broadcast rights.
Not sure what kind of money may be coming in via TV deals either. I have been able to catch some of Naomi's games on ESPN3 over here in the States so some sort of deal is in place domestically. The unknown factor is whether the all star nature of the tournament is enough to sell it to foreign networks along the lines of the IPL in Cricket.
Marcus appears to be playing for New York Empire, which is the same team as Neal Skupski. Ken Skupski also made an appearance yesterday albeit for a different team.

I guess it was a better offer, at least financially than a challenger. However I hope he puts this money to good use to get his ranking up.
When I spoke to Marcus pre Wimbledon, he did say that this year was more about building up a "war-chest" ready to hit the circuit again next year. Obviously his success at Wimbledon has changed (brought forward) those plans somewhat, but I am sure raising funds is still a major goal at the moment. He has also been suffering from injury since Wimbledon, so for me, it is just great to see him back on court and competing, wherever that may be.
I wasn't aware of his injury. If that is his plan, then seems like a good strategy to me so go for the points when he's fully fit. Seems odd that he'd tweet about the US challengers though, or retweet.
I see that New York Empire got the win 21-19 this evening with both Neal Skupski and Marcus in the team. Marcus sealed the win with a 5-4 victory over Stephane Robert.

Cracking photo, of the team celebrating Marcus's success at the end of the match, circulating on Twitter, he's clearly made a big impression in a very short period of time.
