Government Spending
(Preview)
The corona virus has changed so many things in this world and in my opinion will continue to do so for months, if not years. This government has decided that to protect people and the way our society functions, it is necessary to increase borrowing to unprecedented levels with figures of 250 billion be...

Hello, Whilst we have no tennis, and plenty to be concerned about, I am going to post a bad joke every day. Worst case scenario, you will have something else other than the current ubiquitous suspects, at which to channel your anger and frustrations. Best case scenario, perhaps at least one other pers...

Holiday chaos
(Preview)
Anyone had any fun trying to put any claims in with airlines? Our outbound departure was cancelled by easyJet 24hrs in advance of Storm Dennis. We couldn't get on an alternative flight and couldn't get through to easy jet as they cancelled hundreds of flights and their call centre was inundated. Luck...

I wanted to say how terribly sad this news was today. Whatever happened between her and her boyfriend, for it to end in her death is a terrible and unjust tragedy. The court system is merciless and pursues people and many would agree that is right. As someone who has been through it, I know how she reac...

Tennis clubs in Northumberland
(Preview)
Hi everyone, I am in the process of moving from North Lancashire where I play at a super club with 3 grass courts (yep, lucky me!!) and 2 all weather floodlit courts. I have to admit I am at the ladies 'veteran' age group and I play a lot in mixed dubs local leagues and my own club both singles and doubles. I se...

Floods
(Preview)
As some of you may have seen, although I am not sure if it made the UK news, the Costa Blanca has suffered its worst storms for over 100 years in the last couple of days. There has been extensive flooding and sadly loss of life in the region as well. I am currently in Brazil, which makes matters worse in a way...

So just to say, I have realised I have spent WAYYYYY too much time on here in recent weeks/months and to that extent my work has probably suffered and certainly I know I need to pull back. That isnt going to happen over Wimbledon and I plan to keep on my grass court wins lists through to the bitter end but, af...

Reality TV Shows

OK. So I am not really into the modern trend of Reality TV and Talent shows. Most of them make me cringe, at best. But whilst I have been over here in Brazil, I have got into X Factor USA, mainly because it is one of the only shows that is in English and subtitled rather than dubbed. The vast majority of the co...

Do we learn as we get older

So here is the thing - I am 53 years old now and love my work, but I expected that by my age I would have seen everything and learnt not to be disappointed by how things dont always turn out the way you want! I went to see a client in November and after a couple of discussions talking them through various pro...

Labour party in a mess

Some people may say that the Tories are very divided, but the Labour party is in a right mess and has been for sometime. 7 resigned this morning. One has already lost the whip and is effectively independent. Expect more to resign over the next few weeks. My MP is Luciana Berger - I am not surprised she has r...
