I read on the BBC/Sport/Tennis website that David Mercer has passed away at the age of 70. He was well known as an umpire and commentator on radio and television. He umpired the 1984 Wimbledon mens singles final between John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors. RIP and thoughts go out to his family.
