They are playng indoors - which is what I was expecting anyway.
Good, must have changed though as the write up on one of the links above talks about using two outdoor courts
They will go outdoors, once the weather improves.
Makes sense - I wondered how they got to the relevant match ups - it looks like it wasnt, say 1v 1 or 1.v 2, 2 v1 style - rather players have been nominated and randomly play whoever was nominated by the other captains, presumably "blind"?
Jo's match doesn't seem to be streamed, on the LTA ? Also I thought I had seen Amazon prime advertising they would cover this, but can't find it now? (Sorry if already discussed)

Jodie serving for the match. Hopefully she keeps her nerve. 6-4 *5-3.
Yes Jodie won 6-4 6- 3. I reckon Jodie must have played more singles matches in July than Jo had played since the US Open. That was actually only Jo's 8th singles match since then. Far less than Jodie or Katie Boulter for that matter.
Jo needs matches, she looked very rusty. Perhaps Dan Smethurst needs to push her a bit harder.
Jodie played very well, looks promising for when the tour returns.
I thought Dan Smethurst was her hitting partner and she was trialing Thomas Hogstedt as a coach. To be honest the only tournaments Jo has played since Wimbledon 2019 where the word rusty does not seem to have applied are the US Open and Monterrey.Just 7 singles matches played between the US Open( I.e 10.5 months ago) and todays match probably tells its own story.

Yes, you are right Rosamund, Dan is her hitting partner, and has been so for a while. That's why I commented as I did
I've read that Jo has pulled out of Palermo and instead going to play Lexington the week after, no doubt leading hopefully to the US Open. She'll need to play better there than what she managed here today if she is going to achieve anything.
I did once she see Jodie beat a reigning Wimbledon singles champion which most Britons never manage. That was in the Liverpool Exhibition tournament in 2014 when she played a decidedly unfit and retired from the circuit Marion Bartoli who retired part way through the match. Jodie went on to win the tournament beating Tara Moore in the final in the year when Tara was a Fed Cup player.
Hell of a match point winner by Cam to take the MTB 10-7 against Dan. Obviously these Day 1 singles are only worth 1 point each, but that's a couple of notable scalps already.
3-6 6-4 10-7 the final score.
