RE: Week 41 - Israel F13 ($10,000) - Akko (Hard)

The local "Live score" is still showing Luke's match as "in progress" even though the score doesn't appear anywhere.

Given that Jonny tweeted that Luke was down 1-4 well over three hours ago, I think the "in progress" comment may be a red herring. Seems like they have techinical problems there as well.

Jonny and Toby are first matches on for their respective courts tomorrow while JWH is second match on.

All six are involved in doubles later in the day.

As long as he doesn't say :

"I had a lot of success against Klec playing left handed, so maybe you should try that"  wink

Well, from Toby's tweets, he seems to be a really decent guy so good luck to him. But I guess it's not radical to say that Klec is the strong favourite !

Just noticed that yesterday's point was the first point that Jonny has got from outside the UK (albeit by beating a Brit). So a nice little milestone all the same.

In my 'reasonable points goals' for the trip, at the start, I had JWH and Liam at 10 so good luck to Josh tomorrow

Toby's lost the first set 6-2 and Jonny is 1-4 down in the first - add now 1-6.

17 year old Bulis never made the top 600 in Juniors and in 13 previous attempts at Futures only got past the 1st round once. Struggling to find mitigation for this scoreline...

Gutted for Jonny. I really thought he was goin to have a big week after yesterday (or was it Monday). I hope it isn't his back again and that he has to fly home.

Sounds like a really good effort from Toby as well taking Klec into 3 sets. Pity he couldn't see it though but no shame in defeat there.

As for JWH. He is the man this week. I just have the feeling that he will topple the Nş1 seed in the QF. Let's hope I haven't put the mockers on him.

Edit

I really should proof read before clicking Submit.  I honestly meant "good effort" from Toby and not "goof effort" as I put originally. So if you are reading this Toby, my humble apologies.

Seconded. I think JWH is not too far away from a Futures breakthrough - perhaps not this week, but soon. CD's description of him from watching live is exciting - tremendous athleticism, height and power, combined with very sound technique. But very raw and green, without settled patterns of play - almost having too many shots in the locker which he can use...........and often making the wrong choices. When that is sorted, who knows how far he could go. I remember CD saying there was a lot of Tsonga about Josh, not physically (although that may also be the case), but in the all-action aggressive powerful way both play the game......J-W hasn't done badly!

Jonny already 3-0 down in the second ::(((

Toby looks as though he;s making a tighter set of it in the second - 3-3 on serve, lots of deuces on Ivo's serve

O'Mara's board stopped for 8 mins which I took to be a technical glitch but has now re-started as normal (i.e. no catch-up) so there must have been a time-out for someone. Just possible Jonny is injured ?

1-1 for Toby
