Yes after a very tight start (not helped by the slip on the first point) she dug in really well. Super serving to save the break points at *4-4.

She did SO well to get through that first set - saving break points in extremis - hitting really well through the ball when she needed to ...

Good replacement for Sonay tbh - I'd hope she would beat Danka anyway, but I'd be very disappointed if she can't take Kerkove.

Sonay has already beaten Kerkhove twice this year, and on both occasions went on to win the tournament. More of the same please, Sonay smile

On an aside, these 'game set and facts' are rubbish - it's just informed me that Katie has only won one grass court match in her career, the other week vs Sloane, and earlier that Marta was one of a few teenagers in the draw - alongside it being her 20th birthday today!

This is probably the most disappointing I've seen Sonay play for months. Not a good day for it!

Shame for Katie, fought hard, couple of half chances in the third she could have done more with. But Kostyuk deserved it.

A rather disappointing haul from these draws so far...
