So excited for the draws in the morning. Enjoyed listening to the Tennish podcast where they were speculating about how it might go and saying imagine if Serena drew Emma in the first round - not sure the British press could handle that kind of excitement!

The draw will be interesting but don't think we'll be talking about it on Thursday - Again hope I'm wrong. smile

Good draws - actually shame there's no points after all biggrin Probably the best total set we've had in a while (usually even if we get some good round 1 draws there's terrible round 2s, actually here you could see how someone could feasibly make round 3).

Harriet is in a really decent looking section actually, and if Sonay can beat Kovinic (doesn't like grass) she'd get a massive match with Iga.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Emma lose to AVU though. I think she has a tricky section, likely to play Garcia in round 2 (unless Lily can pull that off).

Katie S is in that section and I'd say her match with Kostyuk is 50/50.

Heather should demolish Korpatsch, but then she should have demolished Ahn last year.

Tsurenko is better than her ranking but is such a mixed bag. Had a great week in Eastbourne before pulling out, but hopefully Jodie can continue her form.

Serena could well scythe through her section. Not a particularly daunting one for her. Same one in Katie B who should beat Burel and then has a rematch with Pliskova.

I think Emma's is the worst draw, Alison has had great success on grass this season. I think she won 3 grass tournaments but just got knocked out in first round in last one, which means she will be rested for Wimbledon...... aargh

A re-match with Keys could be on the cards, if Swan can get the R1 win.

Katie B's possible route looks familiar and daunting. The big names all seem to be in the top half of the draw.

Some wishful thinking here !!
Burel
Pliskova
Serena
Gauff
Badosa
Swiatek
and I haven't a clue who might make it from the bottom half of the draw

Sonay Kartal vs Danka Kovinic       Good chance for Sonay but Id' say this is 50:50
Katie Boulter vs Clara Burel             Katie should win fairly easily if she plays like she did this week.
Katie Swan vs Marta Kostuyk            I think Kostuyk will be too much for katie S. She looked ok and more focussed this week though there is always a chance she loses the plot.
Lily Miyazaki vs Caroline Garcia          Garcia playing quite well at the moment. Hard to see Lilly winning.
Emma Raducanu vs Alison Van Uytvanck     Question is how fit is Emma? Abdominal injuries are v. tricky. I think AVU has a very good chance to win this.
Heather Watson vs Tamara Korpatsch          Who knows. Heather to just about get through.
Jodie Burrage vs Lesia Tsurenko             Tsurenko has been hopeless until very lately for quite a while. If Jodie plays aggressively and keeps her head she can win this

They might have given Harriet a mention ...

Harriet Dart vs Rebeka Masarova

Good draw with certainly fighting chances in R1 for our women. Whilst some very decent opponents there, the very top names have been avoided.

The BBC also had her down as a WC entry so all in all not the most informed journalism. (I did notice Harriet was missing)

Emma hasn't turned up for her scheduled practice. Not entirely convinced she's going to play. And if she's not fit would be for the best she didn't.
