As PaulM said on the other thread (sorry, Paul, forgot to copy yours over too)

"Naiktha really has to be winning that one."

And Steven agrees:

#Wimbledon Q: In QR1, (WC) Naiktha
@TeamBains
has drawn Réka Luca Jani HUN WR 181 (CH 147 in 2012), who is 0-4 on grass (0-2 in juniors & 0-2 in seniors) and will be playing on it for the first time since losing in QR1 here 9 years ago!

Jani is pretty hopeless - not surprising for someone who's basically never played on grass.

Naiktha could not have had a better draw if it were wrapped in ribbon.

For someone who hasn't played many matches recently, Katie is looking pretty good.

Katie takes the set 7-5. Naiktha wins a marathon service game to go 3-0 in the 2nd.

Well done Naiktha, it's a big achievement.

Cabrera held a long game at 4-0* (Katie didn't have any break points) and still fighting but Katie keeping steady and calm

5-1*

Katie S wins 7-5 6-2 - really good tennis from Katie S and I feel she could actually qualify here. Both women played good tennis throughout - Cabrera got a break to go 4-3 up and Katie broke straight back and it felt pivotal. After that Katie S seemed to move up a gear and Cabrera down one and the second set was over in no time - Katie S was 4-0 up in the second, so it was very comfortable.

That makes it 4 wins out of 5 - I thought that Katie S, Tara and possibly Naiktha would come through, but Eden was a real surprise. Our Brits have done brilliantly and it will now be interesting to see how Matilda gets on against Konjuh. After the despondency that many on here felt around the time of the French Open, hopefully a lot of people are now feeling a lot more positive.

Well done all our Brits - fantastic performances.

The bookies got it totally wrong - I wish I had had a punt now. Hindisight is a wonderful thing of course.

Very nice wins - I was way too pessimistic in my predictions pre-tournament!
