Super result. Perhaps her best ever singles victory?

I'm a little surprised that they haven't brought the start time forward, it's a glorious day and far brighter than it's likely to be at 9pm tonight.

presumably once they have set a time it is hard to change it in terms of communicating with players to get them to shift their preparations , eating, warm up, travel by that hour or half hour. i guess the start of play tends to stay as published the day before as a general rule...

looking at the fact some of the womens players are yet to play, we are looking at a friday finish here for the womens side anyway, it seems unlikely they are going to ask the players that havent started yet to play 2 matches tomorrow/

Yes, but they knew the forecast last night. They could have put it on the schedule then.

It's true you sometimes get dew on the grass.

But I'm with emmsie - get going asap, set the kick off time for 10 (based on the forecast) and then delay it for 30 mins or whatever if you have to.

Lordy, Naiktha's match is not for the faint-hearted....

How many UEs can you make? Let's hope it's just first 10 minute nerves.....

Naiktha *1-3

meanwhile Katie 1-1

Katie *2-3. A real tussle so far, both players missing break points.

Naiktha 4-5* - as CD says not a pretty match

Yep, managed to sort her on serve out and then break her opponent 3 times, fair play to her
