Week 25 - Wimbledon - London (grass) - women's qualifying

Fantastic. Buzzing for her after all she's been through.

Superb for Katie S.

Be great in many ways for her to have come through qualifying. To be fair, the main reasons I thought she should be in qualifying were her recent injury and lack of action plus overall ranking. But undeniably quite a result all round.

The live ranking sites don't appear to be updated yet, but Katie could be looking at a rise of around 40 places when the points go on after Wimbledon.

Arguably all of those reasons applied even more to Sam who got the MDWC ahead of Katie despite the latter having won a W25 in February. Not so sure Sam would have made it through Qualifying this year if their positions had been reversed.
