I think it depends on how you define a singles and doubles player? Id say Andy and Dan could qualify as both singles and doubles and you could argue Neal is enough as a doubles specialist
Makes no sense to have more than three singles players when only two singles matches per tie. And surely with so many highly ranked doubles players, it's worth having two doubles specialists on the team. If Draper is protecting an injury, think he would be better off resting before continuing his assault on the rankings. It's a shame there is still not an obvious GB doubles pairing.
Neal and Dan are the most obvious doubles pairing since they have played together on quite a few occasions, admittedly not since Neal has gotten himself a regular tour partner.
Would choose Dan, Cam and Neal. Wouldn't choose Andy, wouldn't choose Jack.
I think it shows from the range of views how complex it can be - effectively 6 players into 5 and 4 singles and 2 doubles at that , and all great players on their day, but all also flawed right now in one way or another- makes it a very difficult choice. Time for Leon to earn the big bucks!
And a sign that Leon rates Evans-Skupski above Salisbury-Skupski or any other doubles specialist pairing. But potentially hard work for Evans if he has to play at No. 1 and back-to-back singles-doubles. There will probably need to be some rotation during the week. The irony is that the GB team has a lot of strength in depth, although pros and cons for each player.

Instinct is Leon will start with two of Cam, Andy and Jack in singles and Dan and Neal as the doubles pair. Reckon Leon will have consulted the players on this and hence decided Neal and Dan tops Neal and Joe.
wouldnt surprise me if he starts with Cam and Andy first match .
We play Australia, Switzerland and France in that order. Top two qualify so playing whole squad on rotation most likely to ensure we get top 2. Jack coming in on Friday next week maybe?

Settle on your likely best team to win each day. Play it. End of.
I wouldn't have thought that Andy was in that team, Jack playing or not. And Jack's selection still concerns me.

Agree with all that. This is three set format with games well separated, Wed/Fri/Sun. Draper can do light training over the next week and miss the Oz test on the Wednesday. If as I suspect the main tear healed, there is likely soreness around scar tissue and putting the muscle to work again. A small separate tear might be manageable and even heal over the coming days itself with some activity helping with blood flow.
At any rate, very happy to see him in the squad. Shame Joe didn't hit it off with Neal, real pity but to have Evo able to play both codes is a big bonus, given he is such a different sort of player. How to beat AdM is the main issue for GB now for the first tie. I can't remember now I think about it if the ranking restricts selections for games, assuming it does.

The players need to play in ranking order ; so cam, Dan, Andy and Jack. Cam would always be number one therefore and Jack number two. I think the matches go 2, 1 , doubles as an OOP, but Im not certain of that. So Dan would be playing number one if jack or Andy are also picked. I think.
