14 year-old Mimi played an excellent match, to take the title - thoroughly deserving of the win - Talia hung in well, played OK - but Mimi has such an all-round game, with such power and timing
Mimi wins 6-4 7-5
(Will also make Hannah K think, well, I was so close to her .... )

Mimi definitely played the better of the two today. Talia for me looked very tired, her movement was not as it usually is, just one step slower. She seems to tire at the back end of events, playing well throughout and then losing the last 5/5 finals. Playing dubs too up to the finals is tough. Same for Mimi yes but she seems to be physically stronger with more stamina I think at this stage than Talia Who looks like she could benefit from some s&c training blocks as the tennis is there. But not to take away from Mimi today she was the stronger player.
Presumably Mimi, Hannah, Hep and Isabelle are all still planning to play in the under 16 event? Will be interesting to see them all going again so soon.
I expected that Mimi would pull out of the under 16s after winning the under 18 event, but she indicates in her LTA interview that she will compete. I notice that there is a strong section in qualifying including 2 under 18 qualifiers (Tia and Ruby) along with Sarah Copley
The under 16 main draw is out here Hannah and Hep will play each other in the quarters if they win their openers. Isabelle is the top seed in their half.
As mentioned above I thought Ruby's section looked tough, but she breezed it against Hannah 2 & 1 (and that's more than her other two opponents managed together)
