RE: Girls: 2022 U18/U16 Junior National Championships, NTC, acrylic (Week 14)

Mika and Arabella both came through along with Allegra and Ruby. Qualifiers are placed in the main draw here

Tomorrow's schedule is out with Hep and Isabelle up first on courts 3 and 5.  Post 2 in this thread has likely links to streams and scores - alternatively use these scores  and the LTA YouTube channel

Ruby continued her strong showing in the Nationals eliminating 4th seed Sirena Waas. There is a top clash in the quarters tomorrow between Hep and Hannah, which I assume will be scheduled for one of the streamed courts

QF

(1) Isabelle Lacy v Francesca Simpson
(3) Hephzibah Oluwadare v (WC) Hannah Klugman
Ellie Blackford v (Q) Ruby Cooling
Abby Kelliher v (2) Mingge Xu

Sirena was miles off the pace from the bit I saw.

And I actually watched a fair bit (more than intended ) - I like Ruby's game - it's not up there yet with the top 2007-ers, but there's a lot to like there. Ellie will be tired too - she had a pretty hard match today against Flora.

Mimi won reasonably easily, she's a cut above, what can you say, but I've liked Giulia too for a while and she played well - hits a heavy ball, moves quite well too.

Hep v Mika was 100% one-sided

Should be interesting - forgive me, as I know the answer will probably be that they played just the other week (!) but have Hannah and Hep played before or recently??

The thing is, and it worries me a little, is I don't remember; or didn't - and I do know I have been told, so it sort of nagged at my brain when asking the question!

Of course, I can see now she won 1 and 3 and it all comes flooding back to me! But sadly, it wasn't there in my brain...

I think I tend to skim without taking in details sometimes, so apologies if I ask the same question twice!

Anyhoo - I see Hannah has the early lead today, as CD predicted, she looks likely winner.

Mimi Xu is in a tight start with Abby Kelliher, it is 3-4 on service (Abby serving)

Hep having a bit of a mare. Hannah solid and constructing points well.

Mimi seems in another league and its all down to what she does.

Ellie B has shown great resilience - two very tight three-set wins, back to back, winning today in a third-set TB

That means the semis will be:

Isabelle Lacy (2006) v Hannah Klugman (2009

Mimi Xu (2007) v Ellie Blackford (2006)

Isabelle Lacy beat Ellie Blackford in 3sets in the 18's, Mimi beat Hannah in straight sets (CD, you must be proud of me now!!)

A Mimi versus Hannah rematch would be excellent

The girls semis are at 10am followed by the boys semis and doubles finals (possibly - could be moved) on the streamed courts 3 and 5
