Gutted for Jo. Whilst I don't think she'd have got near a medal, and it's an odd set up this time with no fans and less mixing of athletes, it was still a big goal for her. And it's a blow for Heather, as I do think with a bit of good fortune there was a route for Jo/Hev to get into a bronze medal match.
Hev/Joe are nowhere near the notional mixed cut on ranking, but it's possible not all those who could play will do so, and in Rio of course Heather got in as an alternate with Andy after late withdrawals, so same could happen again.

Is there a current list of possible mixed pairs and their entry rankings floating around anywhere ?
I've little sympathy for Jo, she opted to skip the vaccine a calculated risk that didn't pay off.
I thought she had got vaccinated after the French once she was back in the UK? I know there was some uncertainty at Wimbledon on her status (her comments at the French were a bit odd) but I'd understood she'd had her first dose as part of the normal roll out when it dropped down to the over 30s at the start of June.
If she'd actively avoided the vaccine then whilst it doesn't offer full protection, especially against Delta, then absolutely yes, seems a silly decision both in relation to this happening and more generally. Get the vaccine people! I'm actually slightly surprised Team GB aren't making it mandatory as part of team selection to be honest...

If Jo was fully vaccinated then I apologise for being so harsh but I had the notion she was a reluctant adopter.
Regardless I obviously hope she the team and close contacts are all doing well.
Forgive me the excitement of Euros and Wimbledon finals in the same weekend have left me distinctly all at sea !

You could well be right Armchair, I don't think I've seen it confirmed one way or the other. Just had a feeling I'd read it/heard it around the Wimbledon withdrawal but could definitely have picked up something wrong! She was very cagey about getting it when questioned on Paris.
I have no idea whether Jo was vaccinated or not, but logistically if one had the first jab at the beginning of June, one couldn't have had the second jab yet....

The time between jabs is about 3 months for the general public. I know somebodies mother who is 92 and her 2 jabs in a shorter time.

8 to 12 weeks is the UK recommended time nowadays.
Cut is now outside the top 100. Not much longer before the list is frozen and any further singles withdrawals are replaced by the highest (singles) ranked player who is competing in doubles only (so people like Friedsam, Raina and so on).
It's a shame Katie didn't still have her PR, she'd have made it.

Is that the way it works in the Olympics (I genuinely have no cluse) that alts come from the doubles field - which would make sense, particularly now.
Mens is well below 100 already I think, not sure how far off Liam it is and whether he would be interested if it dropped far enough before the entry list is frozen??
