Good to see the LTA powers that be taking notice of Paul & involving him in an event like this.
Good stuff, like Paul. As Indy says, it isnt an LTA event, it is privately organised by Jamie and Schroders but with LTA blessing and support. I understand the players would be selected by Jamie as tournament director?
Although obviously it followed rankings initially.
Paul v Cam will be interesting, assuming Dan beats Cam.
As people said above, no credit to the LTA, it's not their bag. (Central LTA had precious little - i.e. zero - to do with Paul's journey until he won the biggie event in the US either).
But nice that Sam Smith is more open with what's going on, and does at least confirm that Paul, Jay and Jack are all on LTA's elite programme - not really surprising, and - as said - only confirmation - but it's a mega big deal, with £80k or so in cash, I believe, as well as all the non-cash items - facilities, help, etc. etc.

Sorry, I had just assumed that the replacement rule would be as in the ATP finals.
The ATP finals way, as, I understand it, is much fairer in that if level on wins but played fewer matches then the one that has played more matches is ahead, but actually win more matches and you take precedence even if you missed an initial match.
I wonder if any alt was ineligible to progress ( even if played 3 matches ) which would mean that Dan and Cam were bound to go through from the moment we had a 2nd withdrawal in their group.
Very strange and it seems a quite unnecessary reduction in competition when players are looking for competition.
Being just a private competition, perhaps Cam could / should suggest that actually the winner of his match vs Paul progresses?

Yes. Technically, a player could therefore lose all three matches and qualify while a player who won 2 or 3 doesn't. Seems to me that a rethink would be needed if the same circumstances were to occur.
So, if I am right, we have Andy vs Dan and Kyle vs Cam in the SFs.
I think Dan will beat Andy as I am not sure what level Andy's fitness will be after two very tough matches. In the other, I have to back my man Kedders against Cam.
Wardy played well - so good to see!
Andy found a way, but the next round will probably be a step too far for him at this point.
So enjoyed seeing some of the Murray Magic again!
Got to feel for Neal Skupski at the moment as he battles it out on court while his beloved Liverpool seal the PL title.
Not so much any more: Chelski beat Man City by 2-1, so Liverpool are this year's Premier League champions. Meanwhile, Jamie & Neal take the first set by 6-4 to move within one of qualification for the semis...

I wonder if Neal would rather be celebrating the football. Ken is all over Twitter right now with his own celebrations. But I am betting that the news has reached Neal on court.
