He can still vote as long as he is not incarcerated, which few are expecting him to be. Trump is registered to vote in Florida where the right to vote is deferred to the state in which he was convicted. New York law allows people convicted of a felony to vote as long as they are not incarcerated.
This whole situation highlights some extraordinary contradictions in the US legal/electoral system.
Trump can now stand as a candidate in a Presidential Election in which he is barred from voting because of his felony conviction.
I don't think he's actually barred from voting. This is from Forbes:
A Florida resident with a felony conviction in another statelike Trumpis only ineligible to vote in Florida if the conviction would make the person ineligible to vote in the state where the person was convicted, according to the Florida Division of Elections website (Trump has been a Florida resident since 2019).
Because Trump was convicted in Manhattan, he'll face New York's felon voting rules, which allow a felon to vote as long as they are not behind barsmeaning Trump would be able to vote as long as he doesnt go to jail.

Does a suspended sentence count as incarceration - ie a deferred sentence so long as you do nothing else wrong? Would a further conviction on any of his forthcoming other trials trigger a suspended sentence to become an actual jailing?
"He shouldnt be allowed to run...If he wins, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. In that situation, we could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment and, ultimately, a criminal trial. It would grind government to a halt"

Guess who said this. Will post the answer later.
Probably Trump himself at some time !
Was it that obvious ? I changed 'she' to 'he' to try and disguise it slightly but this is what he said about Hilary Clinton in 2016. I hope someone reminds him of it at some stage.
He has been convicted, he is in denial: so far, so much like millions of other convicts. The difference is that tens of millions of people will still vote for him - I find this incomprehensible.

I guess many millions of them will be voting for his policies rather than him as a person but still the number that genuinely follow the man is amazing.
Remains the betting favourite to be president in the contest between an allegedly corrupt horrible man ( with more serious charges still to be faced ) and a seemingly increasingly senile man.
I don't know exactly what the age should be but I completely believe that there should be a law that no one over 70 (75?) should be allowed to stand for President (or Prime Minister)
