I'm pleased Maia won, spread those points around a bit. 18 for Tara is still a very good return for someone with her ranking. It's basically the equivalent of losing in a W25 semi final.
Very tough task for Maia next, but she officially has a WTA main draw win now. Hopefully she can last a bit longer than Naiktha on court tomorrow against Cato G. With no spectators watching (so the tournament doesn't really lose anything with name value) it is kind of a shame that it was the seeded Yastremska withdrawing in this section instead of Garcia, as Rodina would have been drafted in there and there would have been a decent chance of an all GB clash in R2. As it is, Garcia might never get a more straightforward path through the early stages of a WTA draw.
Schedule says 1130 am start on the indoor courts, looks like they are using 3 indoor courts at the Nottingham tennis centre and then men are using 2 courts at Trent. Looks like the grass is scheduled for 1 pm start currently , presumably that is a watching brief.
