I'll take the bait. Regardless of Dan being a Brit (or a bloke), Garcia-Vekic was absolutely the showpiece event of the day with it being a full WTA event rather than a Challenger event, and the tournament needed a good, uninterrupted final like that after the likes of Sascha Bajin needless public criticism, despite the very testing circumstances throughout.
Excellent match between two top 30 players with much of their career ahead of them, and a worthy winner in Garcia. I'd have preferred it to have ended it in 2, but there's no way they should be playing second fiddle to anyone.

Haha right.
Anyway in more positive news and with no offence to the Donskoy fans, Evo has just broken after threatening already.
Sometimes I just have to laugh when Dan loses it. Complaining at himself after being broken back when 4-2 up in the second set he complains about being pathetic and being 'British'. I know what he means!
Luckily breaks again in the next game, so serving for the match.

Donskoy complaining about something loudly at the changeover but can't quite pick it up except for his last comment about it 'being very British' and pathetic. Anyone else pick up what he as actually whingeing about?
Edit: Oh that was Dan was it? Thought it was Donskoy.

I know Julia, you always feel you need to put your tin hat on. It's just that particular comment that made me laugh. But luckily he's done it this year!
Yes, I heard it as Dan, complaining that he couldn't convert a single BP. Pathetic and very British. And he had a point - he had 18 BPs in that match. And only converted 3.
Oh Michael I thought it was Dan who said that about himself. Yes it makes more sense that it was Dan as he'd just been broken.

It was hard to see because it was hidden by the stats table, but yes, at the end you can see him smacking his bag with his racket as he walked back to his position. Glad he got over it quickly though!
