I agree CD. I think he loves hanging out with the British players. He's always around cheering them on. He may not be able to play all of them as it's a lot of tennis in the run up to Wimbledon, but I think he's likely to play at Nottingham at least.

 Seriously? I doubt it. I've never heard of any tournament director doing it. Weather insurance is really expensive, too, isnt' it? 


I did some digging on this and found out you are correct Coup! The Nottingham organisers told me it was far too expensive to get insurance. So they just take a long term view, as in last years profits due to excellent weather cover the losses of this year.
