I'm wondering when we'll next see Katie B. I thought they said she was close to returning around the time of the US Open but it all seems to have gone very quiet since then.
There hasn't really been a general update on Katie B for a while, and as far as I know, she may not be back for another couple of months anyway, but if she was/is close to a return then it would have been crazy to come back before the PR kicks in at the end of October. I'm hoping that's what it is and we might get to see her in a couple of small ITFs towards the very end of the year using her actual current ranking (to save her PR), but if not, hopefully she will return for an Auckland or Hobart in Jan using her PR and then of course the AO. I'd have been more surprised/concerned if she had played an event at the end of September / early October - a couple of early defeats and her ranking would have slipped well into the 300s, but with no PR back up to act as a potential short cut to ideally get her back to, or near to, where she was in March.
Katie S was injured at US Open qualifying and made a return in doubles in Roehampton last week ( R1 exit ) just about in line with her original expected time out.
She is on USA W25 singles lists for the coming 2 weeks, week 41 and 42.
Well, I figure as I'm about 5 off the top in the women, and 5 off the bottom in the men, that puts me slap bang in the 'ultra average overall' category. Truly unremarkable, blend in with the crowd.....
I'd like to apologise to the entire British tennis community. I'm normally very conservative with my predictions and end the year delighted that the players have outperformed where I thought they'd end up. This year I got a bit overexcited and, well, the rankings tell the story.

Ha, trying to take the pressure off. Embrace it. You're a challenger in the women's

CD, guess I'm 'ultra average overall' too, but in reverse - I'm 3rd from the top with the men, 6th from bottom with the women
Many will have already played their last match of 2019 so it won't make too much difference, but as a new entrant to this, do we use the rankings now, or right up until the end of December?

Traditionally the rankings after the ATP finals for both the men's and women's predictions. So 18th November.
