Jo strikes first.
Parmentier first serve effective, but Jo feeding off the weaker French second delivery when it comes.
Jo serving poorly, but both 1st & 2nd serves are strong starts to points when they land.

Still not playing well, by the standards we saw last year. But, still had enough there, even in 2nd or 3rd gear, to claim the set in unfussy fashion.
I've been spoiled in my expectations
