Are Belgians into trying to lull folk into a false sense of security ??

Sounds as if Andy was very good and Goffin pretty bad. He will no doubt be much better in the Davis Cup Final and whatever, not as easily disheartened.

But anyway as long as Andy is focussed and playing well, that's what mostly matters on the GB front. 

Very good to see such form so far here.

Andy edges the first set against Gasquet, 7-6(7) He started very well then went through a poor patch. His first serve is MIA - if he could find that, he would find life much easier!

Finally!  I was starting to worry after he went a break down in the decider...

Ferrer (8) or Isner (13) in the semi.

Looked for much of the match as though he had physical problems. Unable to get his ball toss up for first serves, walking oddly, continually fiddling with his shoes - all signs of back problems. However he battled through for his first ever SF in Bercy.

Said in the post match interview that his lower back became a bit sore during the match although it only affected him pushing up for his first serve and eventually had to go for less on that shot.  Didn't seem too worried about it though, said it was to be expected after a break and 2 physically undemanding matches.

Andy leads the head-to-head by 10-6 since they first met in the first round at Barcelona in 2006, when Andy was the loser.  They last met in the Roland-Garros quarter-final, when Andy won in four.  Ferrer last beat Andy in three in the last 16 at the Shanghai Masters last year.

Hate to see Ferrer - the moving wall - as the opponent if Mr Murray's potentially not wholly well. Ah well.

Carole Bouchard is noting that the potential alternates for the O2 are now saying that they will go - and she wonders whether there are doubts in the locker room about the top 8's actually playing. With the number of retirements and uncertainties, one can see the point.

On a happier note, she has tweeted, as Steven has, about Murray's now having made the last four in all the Masters tournaments. She also seems to imply that he joins Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer as the only active players to do so.
