RE: Week 32 - ATP 1000 - Coupe Rogers, Montréal, Canada (hard)

I'll take any win against Robredo. Muller is a tough player so hopefully Andy can play a little better tomorrow, because likely QF opponents Tomic/Tsonga would certainly be another step up.

You'ed still take Muller in the L16 of a Masters and probably Tsonga / certainly Tomic in a potential QF.

Robredo did concern me more actually and Andy's got through that.

The Muller match is scheduled "not before" 7.30 UK time tonight. I don't get home from hospital until after 8 so I'll miss the start if it starts on time - though so far not many have!

I knew Muller was doomed when he came out for the second set wearing a yellow top. Several years ago Andy had a very long streak of wins against players wearing yellow; I can't remember when it stopped, and I forgot all about it. Then this week, both Robredo and Muller. Maybe he will start another streak

QF: (2) Andy Murray WR 3 vs (10) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) WR 24 (CH 5 02/12)

H2H 11-3 to Andy, last meeting Andy's Davis Cup win in July.

Tsonga is the reigning Rogers Cup champion from Toronto last year, the 1,000 points having come off on Monday leading to his drop to WR 24.

Yes, it was a couple of summers ago when there was an outbreak of yellow tops among the men - a colour which IMO was flattering to very few of them.....

Ah yellow, memories of Sergio Garcia's all over canary yellow ensemble for the final day of the 2006 British Open, when he was in contention ( I think in the last pair )

I think many folk's reaction was you can't win the Open dressed like that or as John Mac would say "You cannot be serious !"

And I like Sergio and really wish him to win a major.

Rain delays and at 10.40 pm BST the first QF of the day goes into a 3rd set.

Isner vs Chardy 7-6 (9) 6-7 (13) - I think it was just the 5 MPs passed Big John in that second set TB with one on his serve.

Keep it going guys and we'll get to follow Andy over breakfast !
