Genuine mental grit shown by Murray in stepping up with huge forehand power to hit Tsonga off when he had to forge his way back into contention. Brilliant end to set, 7-5 Murray.
Andy almost certainly keeps himself in the top 10 with his first win against a top 10 player since last year's Wimbledon Final and makes it 22 wins in a row against Frenchmen in slams
L16: (8) Andy Murray WR 9 beat (9) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) WR 10 (CH 5 in 2012) by 7-5 7-5 6-4
QF: (8) Andy Murray WR 9 v (1) Novak Djokovic (SRB) WR 1
They have only met once before at the US Open, in the final in 2012 ... and we all know what happened then

Best performance we have seen from Andy in ages. Probably only the QF at Rome has been better this year. Not sure he has enough to beat Nole but he has probably achieved what could have reasonably been expected here and anything else will be a bonus.
Muzz vs. Nole is the late night match tomorrow on Ashe; unfortunately for many fans back here, or even worse for Nole's fans in Serbia.
Get the coffee in.

Can't say I'm surprised although I was holding onto some hope - there's just no way I can justify staying up for this one so Andy will simply have to win so I can watch him again at the weekend when work won't get in the way
