I doubt I'll still be awake when Dan's match finishes (though I might be - still got some work to finish off) so if you're staying, IF, I hope this ends up being just the start of a stunning comeback (actually, I hope it is anyway, but especially if you're staying!)

Either way, I'll see him home. Obviously hoping for at least 80 minutes or so more of employment now.
Dan had a point for 4-5*, but DF, then saved a set point, but not a second. Reasons to be heartened for set 2 though
3-6
Edit: spelling

Just noticed when I closing down the stats on Wardy's match that he not only got 79% of his 1st serves in, he also won all 10 points where he had to deliver a 2nd serve!

A loose game from Dan, containing consecutive DF, sees him broken to love. 3-6 2-4*
Dan saved 2 Match Points before taking his second chance to hold serve and force Martin to serve it out. 3-6 3-5*
Yes! Dan breaks again to put it back on serve. Come on sir! 3-6 *4-5
No miracle comeback, as Dan is broken to 30 for the match After a slow start, showed some decent things, but some key missed opportunities on big points the story there.
QR1: COX, Daniel (GBR) WR250 lost to MARTIN, Andrej (SVK) WR140 3-6 4-6

Ultimately Dan lost his serve 7 times in 10 attempts. I suspect he was competitive in rallies, but it appears he got next to no "free" points on serve all match, as the serve stats were horrible. Very hard to compete at this level without a weapon on serve
Mr Ward did well, though in fairness Mr Angelinos was probably one of the best draws one could have. But he took the opportunity! PHM a slightly different proposition.
Mr Cox getting out there at the last minute hadn't exactly had ideal preparation time, so any weaknesses would probably have been accentuated.
