Nice result for James - keep picking up those points

No suprises for Dan - rushed preparation, tough match, big jump in level from recent matches.

Mr Ward did well, though in fairness Mr Angelinos was probably one of the best draws one could have. But he took the opportunity! PHM a slightly different proposition.

Mr Cox getting out there at the last minute hadn't exactly had ideal preparation time, so any weaknesses would probably have been accentuated.

Yes, given the frantic last-minute dash and the ranking of his opponent, Dan C can be 'reasonably' happy with his performance.

Well done James ! as said by someone else, it was a pretty kind draw but it needed winning. 'Paulo' will be a lot harder but he's a bit of a head-case too - some days are great but some days the unforced errors are just atrocious and you feel he's just a bit 'absent'. There's quite a lot of similarities between his game and James', in fact. Bring it on . . ..

Similarly, Ward faces a break point but saves it and then holds.

Mathieu breaks to take the first set 6-2. Ward had 4 break points and could not convert any of them and only won 3/10 second serve points. If he wants a chance to win this set this needs to improve.

Set slipped rapidly away from James 2 - 6

Regroup for the second set perhaps ?

From 0-30 on Paul's serve Ward loses the next 4 points. Now 2-1*
