I think one of the problems playing against the likes of Janowicz is that there is no rhythm to the rallies and this accentuates the erros from the back of the court. The final will be a slugfest with a lot more rhythm to the match and I think you will see Andy's groundstrokes improve as a result.

I feel really emotionally drained after watching today's antics, I can't ever remember being glued to the box for eight hours straight like that!

I'm really glad Andy won, but wanted Delpo to win too as I have felt really sorry for him since he got the wrist injury after his USO title. I'd like him to get back in with the top guys - nothing against Novak.

The final should be interesting, the two have much more similar games than the two they knocked out. I only hope that Djokers is still feeling some of the effects of today - as Andy seemed to be from his Verdasco match, and that the crowd and inspiration from the royal box will help him over the line!

Good news about the stream ! I know what you mean about having no rhythm with that type of player but I still think he's lacking a bit of confidence in that department even taking that into account. Certainly will need his A game against Novak to give him a good shot, fingers crossed he plays his best match of the tournament.

JJ (he of the monogrammed socks, RF-style, but not fit to lick the latter's tennis shoes. That said, I don't think RF is the gentleman some members of the media choose to portray him as...): as charmless as Sabine Lisicki is charming! Plainly likes to indulge in gamesmanship. And would the tournament referee of any of the other Grand Slams have cravenly bent over backwards to help out a home player's opponent by caving in to his unwarranted demands that the roof be closed early, as Andrew Jarrett did yesterday evening? evileye Come back, Alan Mills. All is forgiven!

The guy might be a good player but he is one of the most dislikeable players on tour. When playing on clay he has a history of pointing to the wrong mark to try and con the umpire.

Just watched the match again on iPlayer & forget about whingeing Poms. From the start of the third set JJ was a whingeing bloody Pole ( furious ), who was out-aced (20 to 9 wink ) by Andy! biggrin

Funnily enough, I was more worried about this match-up before he had played Verdasco. When it came to the match itself I was pretty calm all the way through.

OK, I admit to a few qualms when he was 1-4 down in the third!

I suspect if your initials are JJ, you automatically use gamesmanship and stop the match for light, false injuries or toilet breaks. Its not just Poles!

I must admit i dont normally dislike tennis players but I dont like JJ he is surly and attitude stinks.
