Brilliant win for Andy, Saw him playing as a 15 year old years ago in Edinburgh thought he was good but he is mega-good. Watched interview with Draper this morning the man is joke. No depth in British tennis and he has been in charge for 7 years thank god hes leaving

Tears have been shed and a drink has been taken..

That last game was sheer edge of seat cushion munching agony - but it was worth it !

Absolutely cruised to victory, never in my wildest dreams did I think he would win in straight sets.
Best match by far this tournament and Novak struggled, couldn't believe at the end how fast Andy was getting to every ball.
Sir Andy Murray sounds very good to me !!

I hope they hold off on the knighthood till he retires. An upgrade from OBE to CBE will be fine for now.

What a superb performance from Andy today. I look forward to seeing what he can do in the future. In the last twelve months, he has won the Olympic Gold, US Open and now Wimbledon. It is so nice for all of us as well, most will have followed him since juniors and to watch him lift that trophy aloft was fantastic. I hope everyone enjoyed the occasion.

Just brilliant. A weight lifted off everyone's shoulders. The first of many Wimbledon titles I hope.

I thought I'd never see it in my lifetime.

So proud of him. Admittedly Djokers was abit tired from his match with Delpo, and didn't play to his normal high standards (Many more UEs than usual, and shortened points),

BUT qdos to Andy for taking advantage of that and not bottling it like Tim used to do, and playing well on the big points.

Looking forward to an even better ending to the man behind the racket tomorrow night. Anyone got the viewing figures for the match today?

If Djokovic was tired that was his own fault for not beating Del Potro in four sets like he should have.

More importantly Tim never bottled it. Of his four SF defeats two were against Sampras and one was against Hewitt. The the other was against an inspired Ivanisevic and even then I remain convinced that but for the rain Tim would have won that match in 4 sets. Tim probably wasn't good enough to win Wimbledon but it wasn't a lack of bottle that cost him.
