Been listening to TMS since early this AM and ONLY lost 3 wickets...make that 4....Cook out after 6 hours for 116..bowled McGrath caught Gilchrist..261/4....what  a real pity...he walks off with head down....every Aussie on their feet clapping him....400 mins 292 deliveries....."what an outstanding performance from a young man"...Geoff Lawson TMS

6hrs in 40 deg heat...well done Cookie...

Whether a match can be won from here or not is totally irrelevant. What matters is that we need to win this match.

I think that England and Wales need to play offensive tomorrow. It's highly unlikely that we will last for 90 odd overs, so we have a better chance of doing it in 65 or 70 overs. Saving the match is out of the equation, we have to go for the win. Freddie is due a big innings for quite some time now, so hopefully he will do it tomorrow. And KP seems all set for a hundred.

On the bright side, we can create history by quite a margin if we win tomorrow.

Very hopeful....but nevertheless possible outcome Arka...if only they could have got to close of play with only 3 down....then the draw would have been on....

Can't believe those last four overs

It was all going so well...

I hope Warne is fined and banned for his total disrespect towards match officials. Just because he is the best bowler in the world doesn't mean his appeals have a divine right. The batsman actually has to be out. Glad Rudi Koertzen stood strong and to his credit gave the correct decision every time

Freddie got out and Jones threw his wicket away with a mistake.

I expect some powerful shot making from Pietersen now.

all over. 3-0. Ashes Australia.

"pride" to play for according to Freddie. Should have done that in the first three tests!

what do people think of jones dismissal; school boy error?, but is it understandalbe that he is wathcing the umpire for a decision, all the aussies were going mad etc. quite easy to put the batsman off. the aussies really go for it on decisions.

over all tho, poor performace all round. pieterson and collignwood + monty and posibly hoggard are the ionyl ones who may have some pride left in their performances, but thats only in comparsion to the rest sround them. the austrialns were just brillinat here.

fair play to the aussies imo.

New Zealand recently ran someone out while he was celebrating his century. Now that's out of order

thats a bit off, cricket was ment to be the game of fair play etc, but i guess thats changing too.  at least it harder to con the umpires than it is referres etc.

on football note did anyone see mourhinos comments about johnson, i agree sometimes AJ goes down a bit easy, but its a bit a rich coming from a manager who has diving Dida up front - and as the everton boss points out would he have prfered AJ to clatter into Hilario?

great play by west ham tho, dont you a agree sheddy :) i

Everton are clearly incensed.

They've asked for a public apology form Mourinho, who is such a hypocrite given the antics of his players

oops also forgot u-boat commader robben.

its a tricky subject, players running at pace and on the edge will naturally fall over if anything happens to them etc. sometimes its jumping a bad tackle for instance - thats a hard situation for the palyer, they could let them selves be fouled, but risked an injury or jump out the way and be called a diver, most players will jump. its when they do the old arms and legs backwards routine that gets me. Grounds should get the walking  in the air song and blast it through the tannoy when a player does that.

i watched that. The wicketkeeper, McCullum ran out Murali as he went to celebrate Sangakkara's century. That was definitely out of order and quite rightfully has been absolutely rollocked in the press and by other cricketers.
