And I wonder what the women in qualifying think about having nowhere to play the week before qualy?

Bring back Eastbourne WTA 500! I cant see how the WTA 500 at Queens will work TBH. Surely there is no transition time for the top, players and others will be involved in FO? Or have I got that wrong. Think the LTA have been sold a pup!

How about upgrading Nottingham or Birmingham to 500 keeping the other as a 250 and leaving Eastbourne as a 250. So at least people outside of London and the South East get more opportunities to watch top level tennis without paying a fortune for travel and tickets and probably accommodation. Or perhaps even having a competition in Manchester?

Personally I'd have an extra week for grass too. The only surface there isn't a WTA1000 on.

All about money I'm afraid. LTA=London tennis association.

I filled in the LTA feedback form to Surbiton

One of the questions was: have you heard about Queens now having women? YES

How likely is it that you will go? DEFINITELY NOT

Is there anything else you'd like to add? Yes.....and 200 words later () I'd vented my feelings which tie in a lot with everything above (grass events, lower level events needed, keep the ones that are working fine, why London (it suits me but...) etc etc etc )

Won't make any difference but all you can do is put it out there

I would welcome having any level of tournament within reach. I live in Oxfordshire and there are no tournaments, not even a W15, within 60 miles of me. A 120 mile round trip in a day is about my limit now.

I totally agree Peter.  I live in south Oxfordshire and would love to have a local tournament to support, however low level.  I recently investigated the possibility of going to Surbiton but it required 3 changes of train whether I went through London or not and in the end I decided it was just too complicated so I watched the stream instead.  Qualifying at Roehampton is my only option, or Wimbledon of course if I could only get tickets!!!
