Week 7 - ITF W50 Roehampton - Indoor Hard

Yay, Hannah wins 6-3 7-6(6)

Came back from *0-5 down in the TB, which had really just been down to getting first serve in and first strike, kept with it and prevailed.

Strange tie break with Romero winning the first 5 points, Hannah the next 5 only to double fault and give Romero the chance to serve for the set but Hannah prevailed winning 8 of the last 9 points.

I'd had half an eye on the match. Saw Hannah was 1-5, so figured there would be another set. Popped out of the room and came back to see her at MP!! Well done Hannah

Well done Hannah.

Isa looking a bit out of her depth today which is a shame. But hope remains!

What happened? Did she win? Don't you just hate it when you're watching tennis, there is a fightback to 5-5 in a tie-break and then.... there's a power cut...

The Barnett/Klugman pairing is interesting, particularly playing Ali and Malygina.

Yes, I was a little surprised. Lissey would need to reach the final to improve her ranking and has spare counters so I guess she wants some match practice rather than just training. Hannah has shown that she is good at doubles, but only has a single counter for her ranking. The experieince of playing with Lissey against good players can only be beneficial for her. I was half expecting her to play with Mimi, but Mimi is partnering Mika this week so that will also be interesting.

And Mimi and Mika got off to a decent start it looks like from the score you posted above. Good stuff.

I'm looking forward to seeing a bit of the top young talent too

Sofia C (age 18) was #2 in juniors two years ago, made the final in the Aussie Open (juniors) etc etc

And, of course, Bartunkova (age 17), who we've talked about already

That's an attractive order of play

Of the GB matches, Mika's interests me the most
