A really good performance from Dan . No shame in losing to Alcaraz .

Well done Jack, last 16 , cant argue with that for a man outside the top 100!

Though he's of course a top 100 player on results and ability ( indeed fit and well was top 50 ) with many having great expextations for in the future, so just a wee bit lacking context.

But still great to see him in the L16 and with the context of his time out and then still concerned himself about his injury and participation here. He does come back well from times out, I just hope he has less such times in the future.

Sadly one cant do a tongue in cheek , or ironic , emoji ! so yes, of course, thats exactly what I meant. Look, Jack is really a top 50 player, agreed, and top 20 in the near future.

indoors will suit him, indeed the rest of this season will suit him, so lets look out for rapid progress through to year end

 Good waffle though ! Ha.

im really keen to see where Leon goes with DC in 2 weeks. Surely he will add Jack now to his squad - unless he has already - and Jack plus Dan for singles? If he has just one doubles specialist in Neal, maybe we will see Jack plus Dan and Neal with Dan or Andy in doubles - not sure id favour Cam right now for singles play!?

Draper very impressive most of the time, a strong performance, no hint of injury hang ups. Evo valiant to the end, a very enjoyable match. Norrie's form is a worry. Arnaldi did play a blinder though.

Completely agree. I think Leon was waiting on Draper's fitness in the US. He simply must now name him in a five man squad. He only named four players the other Day and that was with only a single dubs player, so it did look like he was thinking this way.

Yes but in his post-match interview, Jack says he's got a new little shoulder tear as of last week (which they think/hope is not connected to the serious one he had earlier in the year). And he's still wearing strapping of some sort on his stomach muscles. He talked a lot about the state of his body..... it's not plain sailing yet, and I wouldn't count on Davis Cup ::((

Pity. But does sound as if Davis Cup is not the place for Jack next week.

That's worrying.  I hope he doesn't do anything silly & agree to play in the Davis Cup, especially in its current format.  It's not worth it.  It's more important that he get himself fully fit.

Im not sure I agree with comment on the davis cup not in its current format. Whatever its format, its still the world team cup, and no less important. So that shouldnt be his deciding factor. Obviously though he shouldnt risk his fitness, whatever the event coming up.

Rublev through it looks like, 4 sets. Jack and Rublev next, if Jack is fit to play, is that in question based on comments above?
