I think they should at least let in some of the grounds pass ticketholders
Or, yes, oversell the centre court tickets with a batch that are not numbered so get put anywhere by the grounds people and have to move if the 'rightful' ticket holder comes along
But good luck to Lily - great to see her back doing well
And Isa has so many good things to take away from this week
Well done Lily - she seems to be down in the live rankings though, did she do better last year , here or the FO?
She's dropping points from the FO and also Nottingham WTA250 from last year - 69 in total, but this week is mitigating that a lot. Lots of movement in the live rankings all round though.
I am a big supporter of variety of games in tennis, but I do find it very tough to like Tatjana's game. The net game is great, but when 85% of your game is slow slicing to make it sit up at the 3/4 court area, it is hard to see what the dynamic part of your game is.
One set apiece. Hopefully Katie can keep up the momentum in the final set.
Katie got a break but being sliced into submission to hand it back.
If she'd gone for the open court rather than hit the volley back to her, the slice wouldn't have mattered, though - she's done it twice now on important points - there's a huge open court and she tries to place it in the most difficult part of the court - where, en plus, her opponent happens to be standing
Mind you, I know Maria has always played like that but I rather like a 35 year-old dinking and chipping her way around the court, coming in on a whim and making life hard
I think Katie is oversubscribing to the theory that going back behind the opponent is a good idea on grass. But that only works if you opponent is actually going to move...
Impressed with how she is channelling her frustration here though. Rebounds well after losing the break (again).
