Boys: 2023 U16/U18 Junior National Championships, NTC, acrylic (Weeks 14/15)

Gosh, that was dreadful matchplay by Alex

And a pretty awful MTB tiebreak from both

Alex won it 10-8 in the MTB

It was like 11 year-olds at the end

But Alex is so coachable; let's hope the US college system sorts him out

I really like what I see in Phoenix but he needs some
Good coaching his ability is very raw and could be used much better

His serve technique also leaves a lot to be desired as he lands on two feet which is very unique from a top level player

Very decent scoreline from 2009-er Mark Ceban

Phoenix (four years older) had his work cut out - deserved it overall - but only just....

He hasn't come on as much as I was expecting....

Henry v Zach, both 2006-ers, on the other hand, was a super competitive match, with a very good level (although some rather dodgy calls....). Henry just took it, 7-5 in the third

Okonkwo broke back to get to 4-4 but then gets instantly broken and Robertson holds to win the set 6-4

Henry Jefferson beats Ben. Now that is a big result

Ben will be disappointed how he played, in the first set in particular.

But I think it's normal - he looked a little flat - after the mega week last week, it's difficult to get really pumped up again.

Well done to Henry for serving well when he had to
