I know ellas ranking is very good but whenever Ive watched her play shes been dreadful so I should probably not watch her and shell play better

No, it's not on you - this is completely on her

She was playing well last year - I saw it with my own eyes biggrin

And somehow the results have been awful this year and - watching this match - you can see why

Absolutely - pushing is exactly the right word - as you say, it's really weird - it doesn't matter if you win or lose, you can't play like that

its somewhat affective but for someone whose been in the top 10 junior rankings as a girl you dont expect them to be pushing the ball like this

Oh, she may well win - I exepct her to - putting the ball in court is certainy effective up to a point, and Dani P has lots of good qualities but maybe isn't quite up to the level yet (although I'd be ultra pleased if she somehow managed to push it tight at the end)

But that's not the point - this is supposed to be part of Ella's development - and, as you say, it's really poor for someone with her ranking and aspirations

Well, poor Daniela completely, but completely, went to pieces in that tie-break

It will be a good learning experience for her

From having a good solid serve, she suddenly out of nowhere lost her toss, hit three doubles faults, was practically in tears - pure stress

Ella won. And the win was probably more important for her. So that's good.

But I can't believe she's going to feel good in any way after that game apart from the fact it's over

We had a bit of rain here in Kingston, so just up the road, but it stopped quite quickly. The sky looks pretty grey still though.
